"Acrobats, flowers and the moon among"
"Acrobats, flowers and the moon among"
choreography: Hanna Strzemiecka Marc Chagall's work was an inspiration for the performance which is not, however, an imitation of the artist's masterpieces. The choreographer wanted to create the mood of paintings on the stage. Chagall's idea of the world as a circus, which passes away with the childhood, was the key for creating a nonlinear dramaturgy of the performance. Through motives of lovers, animals, acrobats and plays, the dancers form unique images, in which fantasy exists along with nostalgia and loneliness.

reviews:
„Moving performance, full house, standing ovations"
From bulletin of Marc Chagall's Museum, Vitebsk (Belarus)
"Hanna Strzemiecka showed again how well she can feel and create the form of a performance. When one creates a performance based on Marc Chagall's work, the basic problem is whether it will include that much of the poetic mood as the paintings have. In "Acrobats, flowers and the moon among" each single part and scene are fulfilled with it. We can find here some moments from "The birthday" (1915), "Three acrobats" (1926), "Lovers in the bunch of flowers" (1930) and from the later Chagall's works: "Comedians", "The great circus" and "Great parade". During the whole journey through Chagall's world we are accompanied by his wife, Bella ("Bella in the white collar"). The moon is shining and the dancers are flying... Real magic"
