Bellissimo

Bellissimo

choreography: Ryszard Kalinowski
music: Architechs, Lucid Terror, Craig Armstrong, J.S. Bach
dancer: Wojciech Kaproń
time: 12 min
premiere: November 2003

Beauty of the body, beauty of thoughts, beauty of movement...The Beauty, which seems to be the most important thing, especially, when accompanied by the Good and the Truth. And, what is the worst, it is so hard to define this idea... Absolute beauty, narcissistic beauty... How exhausting (possible at all?) is to become perfect!

„...an impresive solo choreographed by Ryszard Kalinowski from Lublin Dance Theatre, where brilliant Wojciech Kaproń at first sunk in pain, reached a metaphysical state of grace”
Lewis Segal "Los Angeles Times" (USA)

"Bellissimo" is a story about manhood and about a man imprisoned in the world of stereotypes, where the things are not exactly like we seem they are. The choreographer avoided the gloomy mood, which so often accompanies the solo performances: his work is colourful and variable with unexpected end.
